LS-CHL V2 EM Mode
« on: June 29, 2010, 01:51:28 AM »

Hi,

I have a linkstation live LS-CHL V2 that has gone into EM mode. It just stopped working properly yesterday.

I've had a look around the  forums but can't find  a resolution. The symptoms are:

*can't see any of my network shares

* Nasnavi recognises linkstation and gives IP address, ip address can be pinged but not connected to via http or network share

* buffalo setup recognises linkstation but setup fails

*IP address cannot be  changed using nasnavi or  any other tools.

I've tried resetting the linkstation  to see if it comes out EM mode, but it doesn't

I've tried downloading v.107 firmware to re-flash but the  lsupdater application can't find a linkstation to update. I've put it into debug mode before searching

tried doing a TFPT reboot but again the TFPT server doesn't recognise the linkstation.

Has anyone got any ideas for next steps before I give up and remove the disk drive to try and recover my data.

am I trying to install the right  firmware version?

Thanks, slackboy

LS-CHL V2 can not use Firmware V.1.07 you can use V.1.26 or 1.31

How do you know your LS-CHL is V.1 or V.2 ?

If your remember that webadmin style.

Blue style use firmware V.1

Red style use firmware V2

If you can not remember.

Please see on stick under the box
If the bar-code is printed on MAC address sticker, it is the V2.
No bar-code means the unit is V1.

Thank you for the quick response. I realised after I posted that I was using the wrong firmware version. I've just installed v1.31 and now machine is working correctly.

Very relieved - didn't want to explain to my girlfriend why the last 8 years of photos were lost!

Thank you for your advice... just to give additional information :

firmware version 1.33 can be downloaded on this url : http://www.buffalotech.com/support/downloads/linkstation-live-ls-chl/

then, unzip

then, find LSUpdater.exe

after windows come, press find, wait and then press UPDATE

then it will run automatically , just wait until finish, it take 10-15 minutes..

thank you bro.. fro your solution
