Upgrading Hard drives

hi,

I have a HD-H1.0TGL tera station.(1 t) .been almost  4 years now and  i was wondering if i could upgrad hard drives  to 2t each 2x4 =8 tera.. is it gonna work perfectly? (( i have recently baought HS-DH3 (3t) and thats not enough for me)). so is there any way to make it that happen? please help me out!!

not on that unit, the max HDD size is 4 x 400GB (1.6TB)
