TS-0.6TGL and Upgrade to bigger HDDs?
« on: April 05, 2010, 05:22:05 AM »

Hello there,

my  TS-0.6TGL become fuller and fuller. Now I'm thinking if I can replace the 4 HDDs with lager ones.

I will backup my TS and will do the upgrade while it's offline.

Is this easily possible? Are there some risks? Is there something to take care of?

Best regards, Farbauti.

It is not supported but you can upgrade the capacity (we would obviously no longer warrant the drives).  The largest drives that we have tested is 2 TB (and thats the largest I recommend to be safe), but in all honesty there shouldn't be a reason you can' go to 4 TB.  You will probably have to use the TFTP procedure to get the firmware on the drives and ensure that all of the drives are the same speed.

Great. I was thinking of upgrading from 150GB to 1TB. 2TB would be a quantum leap ;)
