Hardware disk Encryption on Visa 64-bit system
« on: October 15, 2009, 04:57:15 PM »

I just purchased a 1T HD-CXU2  DriveStation.

When I tried to install the drive to my Window Vista 64-bit system - Enable encryption - "Yes": Set a password and install utilities - I got the message: "This program doesn't operate in current OS, It ends," followed by "A file wasn't able to be opened, it ends," -----

-- Does it meant that Hardware Disk Encryption will not work on Vista 64-bit system?

-- Can I use Secure Lock Ware on this drive for Vista 64-bit system?

I also have a HD-PF320U2 MiniSation, with Secure Lock Ware, which works perfectly with my XP and Vista 32-bit systems.

It's really too bad that nowhere in any official Buffalo publications indicates that "Hardware Disk Encryption" and "Secure Lock Ware" are not compatible with Vista 64-bit system.
