LinkStation Mini - internet access
« on: June 11, 2009, 04:31:37 PM »

Hi All.

LinkStation Mini  set to always ON

LS-WS WS500GL/R1

Pluged into

Dlink Router DSL-G624T

F/W Ver 021301702.UK-A

I cant get internet access, I had thought that it was just a firewall issue but I tried after disabling the firewall my ISP (PlusNet) runs on their system and the firewall on my router and I still could not connect!!

As far as I can tell looking at the docsfor the linkstation and the router it should work............

Any help much appreciated.

Alan

You need to forward ports manually in your firewall to give the unit access to the internet.

both the router and the nas have upnp so should I still need to port forward?

I tried it with all firewalls (ISP and router) and it did not work, all the ports should have been open .... I think?

I can I at the minute (via www.bufallonas.com/Toaster1)  I have enabled HTTPS and remote admin on the router in the hope UPNP will work properly.

I've had it checked from an external PC and it failed FireFox wont open it at all and IE reports a problem with the security certificate before it fails :(
