I have a USB drive attached to my Linkstation Live 320 NAS for the purpose of receiving automated backups from the LSL320. In the event of total failure of the LSL320, would my USB drive's backup be compatible with a newer Buffalo product such as a TeraStation-II or TS-III? If the LSL320 were to fail I anticipate that my action plan would be to purchase a newer/bigger/better model from the Buffalo lineup, and populate the replacement NAS with the contents of the old NAS's backup drive. Would that strategy work?
