Can Linkstation Pro backup to Linkstation Live?

I've been very happy with my Linkstation Pro LS-250GL.  I've now bought

a Linkstation Live HS-DH750GL.  They both work for file sharing, copying

etc.  They're connected to the same switch with addresses 192.168.0.100

and 192.168.0.200 with 255.255.255.0 masks.  They can see each other

in the Disk backup page.  However, when I try to choose the destination

for a backup job neither can see the other.

 

Surely its not true that a Pro can't backup to a Live?

Should work. It is necessary to tick some folders on the destination.[Backups] in folder options.

 

Then you configure the other one to write a backup to it.

Thanks - I did this and everything else I could think of.

 

I eventually tried an Initialisation of the new Linkstation Live (HS-DH750GL), then set it up again

and was able to select it for backup.  The new setup is identical to the one which didn't work

before but now does - don't know why!!

Sorry, sometimes it is just helpful to know it works under normal circumstandes. So you try this and that and some solutions remain a mystery. Ask an admin....

 

I'm glad it works despite the fact that I didn't contribute anything intelligent. :-)
