Terastation III logs to use for company audit
« on: April 18, 2009, 01:53:05 AM »

When configuring shares/exports on the Terastation III, is there a way to review previous changes (i.e. a syslog or basic logging mechanism)?

In particular we're looking for events such as drive removals/inserts, exporting of nfs, creation of shares, etc?

With company audits, it seems we're required to provide logs of these type of changes and demonstrate controls we have in place to limit the liability of risks such as disk-removal, exporting an nfs filesystem to a non-authorized host, etc.  We can demonstrate controls, but can't coorelate to any events if we can't figure out how to review the Terastation III logs.

please advise.  Thanks!

Syslog transfer is available for system log and SMB and FTP file log. You can also link the log into a particular share. This can all be accomplished through System->Maintenance, Syslog.
