LS-250GL How to clean out the trashbox
« on: February 23, 2009, 10:09:36 PM »

I have the latest FW for this device and accessing via WinXP. I am seeing 10's of thousands (>80,000) of files in the trashbox, all with names like:

"Copy #xxxxx of backup_temporarybackup_temporarybackup_temporary", all listed as 0 KB in size. I am trying to delete them and it's taking quite a lot of time.

1) Why are they there?

2) What purpose do they serve?

3) How do I avoid their creation in the future?

4) How can I disable the trashbox altogether?

5) In case they show up again, what is a more efficient way to get rid of them?

Regards,

Rob.............

1,2,3. Not sure. If you're using a backup program, it may be creating them.

4. In the web interface, Shared Folder Setup, click on the shared folder, uncheck Recycle Bin, and apply.

5. There isn't really another way.
