Buffalo HD-CE500U2 goes into "sleep" mode
« on: February 16, 2009, 10:57:53 AM »

I purchased this unit about 30 days ago and transferred files to it from my PC. I then connected the unit to my laptop, running Windows XP Professional. The unit is connected properly but it turns off after just a few seconds. When I unplug the unit and plug it back in, the green light illuminates for a few seconds. The unit starts to run but then it shuts off. It won't stay poweredd-up whether plugged into my laptop or my PC. Has anyone experienced this problem? If so, do you know of a fix?

Go to our downloads page and select your model drive, you'll see a firmware update to address a sleep issue. Apply that first and then see if you still have a problem.
