web access linkstation pro duo lost key

I had my web access working, but needed to revert to default settings. This cleared my web access. Now I cannot use the same name for BuffaloNAS.com Name. It says the name is taken or the password is incorrect. Is there a way to clear them so I can reset BuffaloNAS.com Key?

You can email your information to info@buffalotech.com

We can request that it gets done, however we can not promise that it will get cleared.

Thanks for the suggestion. Just to follow up, I sent an e-mail to info@buffalotech.com and received this reply a few hours later:

 

Jim, 

I checked with my corporate office, and at this time they are not able to access the database where names are stored and clear entries from it.  This is for security reasons in the event of someone calling in and claiming they had a specific name even if they didn't.  We are working in finding a secure method of clearing this information, but for now you will have to choose a new name.
