Download DVDs on to hard drive
« on: October 04, 2008, 09:00:08 PM »

I have not been able to play back my movies from my Tera Station. I would like to play them back on my TV. I was trying to do this through my Xbox 360. I hope it can be done and could use some help to head in the right direction.

Thanks,

Ken

The Xbox 360 requires a Windows ID tag which the Terrastation cannot provide, which unfortunately means by design the 360 will only work with a Windows based media server.

Matt_M, that's what I had always thought, that the 360 only played nice as a Media Center Extender using their proprietary protocol, but I see on a number of sites that the 360 is supposed to be DLNA-certified and therefore capable of grabbing the content.  Personally I have not been able to get this to work with my TeraStation Live.

Have you heard much in the way of the Xbox 360 being DLNA-certified?  I cannot find anything on Google telling how to specifically do this, but these articles mention it is possible:

Thanks!
