Buffalo terrastation Pro II -firmware update
« on: November 17, 2008, 04:43:03 AM »

I have alot of data on the company terra station and i wish to update the firmware.

In the past updating the firm ware on a raid card has lost the array information and there for with out taking note of the array setup will make the data on the array unuseable.

Will the the update on my Terrastation using raid 5 loose the data?

Put it like this, 99.999999% of the time a firmware update will not effect the data. However in very rare occasions it does. Make sure you have the Terastation contected directly to the PC with static IP addess set and all AV and firewall software disbaled. Then run the update. Ideally you should have your data backed up to another device. Even though the TS is RAID5 you should never relie on one piece of HW to store all your data on.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
