TeraStation Pro II - Time and Time Zones issue
« on: October 15, 2008, 09:09:50 AM »

We are having an issue with the time settings for our system. On the basic page we have set the NTP server as well as the correct time zone, when we tell it to use "System Time" it changes to the correct time, but after saving the changes, the time changes to the wrong hour.

Our time zone is -5 and when we set it to -5 and tell it to use the system time it is correct. After saving the changes it reverts the time to one hour earlier. It will not hold the time. If we set it to -4 time zone and set the system time after saving system changes it jumps to one hour ahead. Change it back to -5 it jumps back to one hour early.

Correct time 10:00 am

-5GMT = 9:00am

-4GMT = 11:00am

We have updated to the latest firmware to try and fix the issue, but it persists. Running firmware 1.27-1.17. The NTP settings are set for our internal domain controller which goes out to a public NTP server for it's time. All domain clients point to the domain controller for their time settings.

Any guidance in this would be appreciated.

I would use local time, then apply the GMT, after the settings are saved then I would change the time.  Another work around for this is to Enable Windows Time Service of AD server and configure TS PRO II's NTP server setting to the AD server address
