[PLEASE HELP!] Router in DMZ can't have internet access
« on: January 17, 2013, 02:01:02 AM »

Hi, i've this crazy problem.

My purpose is to access from remote to my buffalo's torrent client. i have a WZR-HP-G450H-EU.

I've a DSL connection and a modem/router from my provider configured at 192.168.1.254. the only device connected [via cable] is the buffalo.

i'm using the buffalo in router mode too... so i have "two" lan and my devices are getting this class 192.168.11.*

The problem is this: if i set the modem/router to give the buffalo a public IP [and putting it in DMZ] i can't get any internet connection from any device connected thourgh the buffalo.

i tried a lot of hints found googling but nothing looks like workiing.

some infos:

the buffalo in dmz can't ping 192.168.1.254

the buffalo can't use a ddns because even if it has a public ip it can't connect to the dyndns servers.

i configured the gateway manually or in automatic... no luck.
i configured the dn servers with opendns addresses or in automatic... no luck too...

PLEASE HELP!

1. Have only one router, not 2 servering DHCP.

2. They need to be in the same subnet.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
Having network issues? Drop me an email: info@interwebnetworks.com and we will get it fixed!

1. ok, i can set the buffalo in AP mode.
2. i think i already did this test without any luck: in the moment i put the buffalo in the dmz it get a "public ip" ... it won't still in the same subnet-.

solved.

disabled dhcp of the buffalo, setted as AP.

forwarded 80 ports from the modem/router to the buffalo.

done.
