Hello

I use version DD-wrt 20025 on my WZR-HP-G450H. However, the PPTP server does not support encryption MMPE in this version. When I activate the encryption, and make a connection to a PPTP client (MMPE activated), the connection fails. Only when I turn off encryption MMPE on the PPTP server, the connection is established. Are there more people with this problem and possible solution? With the previous firmware it worked normally.

Got the same problem as well. Even disabling MPPE Encryption doesn't help. Are there any walkarounds? Is there no testing before the release of  a new firmware version? I also wonder why there is no unbranded dd-wrt version for this router??

I also tried to downgrade the firmware. But without success. It seems that downgrading is not possible

Hi brian. Thanks for your tips.

I disabled from UI but still couldn't connect. ..

To leeferij

I am wondering how you recovered  from 20025 to the previous firmware.

No downgrade is possible for 20025 version.... so far

BY  "disable" the encryption in the GUI, my windows 7 pc can connect pptp.

About GUI bug,  I set "mppc" on "Basic Setup"  to "disable", but it is set on "pptp.option" file. Is this right?

And my iphone (ios 5.1.1 and 6) can't connect with PPTP on this firmware yet. I set Startup Script like below and MTU 1400 MRU 1400, but it can't. How about everyone?

#!/bin/sh
echo "nopcomp" >> /tmp/pptpd/options.pptpd
echo "noaccomp" >> /tmp/pptpd/options.pptpd
kill `ps | grep pptp | cut -d ' ' -f 1`
pptpd -c /tmp/pptpd/pptpd.conf -o /tmp/pptpd/options.pptpd

Just bought this router to replace an older Buffalo that was also running DD-WRT. I cannot get PPTP VPN to work with this new router. I'm creating a VPN between two DD-WRT routers and it works great with my old router, but not this one. The remote router is running as PPTP server, this one as PPTP client. I've tried the following settings to no avail:

Original factory setting:
require-mppe
MTU: 1436
MRU: 1436

Try #1:
null
1436
1436

Try #2
null
1500
1500

Try #3
mppe required
1500
1500

Try #4
mppe required
1436
1436

Try #5
require-mppe
1500
1500

If I SSH into the router and run "/tmp/pptpd_client/vpn debug" I see a bunch of repeating "Attempting connect..." and "Connection dropped..." messages. I guess the next step is to power up the old router and compare the options.vpn file.

After turning Off encryption MPPE my PC and Android devices can connect, but my iPAD cannot.

I had been using few different models of Buffalo router and they are all ok with PPTP. Except this one.

Can't believe after such a long time the bug still haven't been fixed. Very disappointed.
