Start PC over internet using Wake On Lan
« on: April 14, 2013, 12:18:51 PM »

Hello,

I have a little problem with my network and I am not sure, what the reason is.

The idea is to start a pc over internet using Wake On Lan. The "way" for the magic paket is this: DSL-cable -> Fritz!Box FON 5140 (my DSL-Router) -> D-Link DIR 635 (adds WLAN to my network) -> Buffalo AirStation WHR-HP-G300N -> PC.

The reason for this is, that my DSL-Router has no WLAN-Support and the PC we want to start is not near the D-Link or Fritz!Box so I extended my WLAN with the AirStation using "Client Bridge (Routed)".

The Fritz!Box has a port redirection to the D-Link router, which should directly redirect the magic paket to the pc. This already works for a FTP connection, so I think the way I do it should be right.

But it just does not work and I absolutely do not know why. Maybe it's the AirStation because I cannot even start the PC using the WOL function contained in the AirStation (Firmware: DD-WRT v24SP2-MULTI (06/03/12) std).

The output is "Waking up 00:21:85:39:49:95 with 255.255.255.0:9...".

Using "Wake On Lan 2" (a German tool for WOL) I can start the pc with the IP and Mac-Address.

Can anybody help me?
