building a wireless bridge
« on: October 04, 2012, 04:26:38 PM »

I have two WZR-HP-AG300H routers, firmware DD_WRT V24sp2 build 15940. DSL modem hard wired to 1st router.

The 2nd roter doesn't seem to be helping increase signal strength. My computer (windows 7) sees the 2nd router but of course it will not connect to it.

Should the computer only connect to the 1st router?

Does a metal garage affect signal strength. I could change/improve LOS if i placed the 2nd router in the barn.

I am trying to increase range up to 250'.

Can I add a different router with external antenna to this configuration? If i raised the ant. 20' no LOS issues.
