WCR-HP-GN acting as a wireless access point
« on: May 26, 2012, 06:06:29 AM »

I bought a Buffalo WCR-HP-GN to act as a wireless access point in my house. It is wired to my DLINK router through CAT5.

The dlink router has been working well for a long time. It is also a wireless router but only with limited range.

I setup the Buffalo to disable DHCP and set the default gateway to point to the DLINK router.

If I plug my laptop into the Buffalo router, then  I can access the internet.

I can see the Buffalo wireless access point from my laptop, the signal is very strong as I am next to it.

I can connect to the Buffalo wireless access point but it fails to connect to the internet through the wireless connection.

Am I missing something in the setup ?

Thanks for helping.
