Hi all,

I have added my usb to the router and formatted it in XFS using the router.

To test it I made some directories and added some content.

Then I connected it to my PC and checked if UFS explorer could acces the drive.

I disconnected it from my desktop and then I tried if I could access the data by connencting the drive to my laptop started a unix cd (you know you can try unix without installing). I used knoppers as the unix distribution.

Knoppers/unix could not read the drive. It gave an error.

Something with an error in reading the superblock.

Then I repaired it via unix command  XFS-repair -L and that worked and I could read the drive on my laptop.  I connected it again with my desktop and checked with UFS explorer and yes it was readable.

So after that I put it back and connected it to my buffalo router.  It indicated the drive as unformatted. I could not acces it.

So was the unix distribution faulty?  So I tried another one (dreamunix) but the result was exactly the same

The same error on the laptop and also not readable.

So Who has any idea what is going on?

(By the way , I did this to see whether I could use a unix distribution to fill the XFS formatted drive with data on a NFTS formatted drive without the network by adding them both to my laptop)

Regards,

Fred
