WZR-HP-AG300H set up problems to comcast cable modem
« on: January 14, 2012, 10:03:58 AM »

replacing netgear with the buffalo for the Gb speed.  WZR-HP-AG300H

I used PPPoE on netgear.

trying the same settings on buffalo. not getting it right because I can't get to comcast page.

DELL XP PC  to switch to buffalo to comcast cable modem.

just switched back to netgear to look for help.

I know just enough to be dangerous and not enough to get this right.

I entered account name, domain name, log in, password.  Not sure I needed all that.

FWIW, I think Comcast Cable in our area does not use PPPoE, only DHCP

Try power cycling the modem then the router in that order, then try to reconnect using dhcp.

Best of luck to you!

Thank you for your post.

I am in Detroit.      I should have included my location in the first post.

I will visit the links and reply with result.

I will try DHCP first.

I do use recylce routine: reset modem, power up router, power up PC as recommened by comcast.

I appreciate your answer.

dhcp worked after much fumbling on my part.

Thank you.

I'm ready to get and install a new cable modem now.
