the speed problem and the bridge problem of g450h
« on: October 05, 2011, 06:31:10 PM »

First is the speed problem.

The transfer speed of my g450h is about 8mB/s using a WLI-UC-G300N? adapter? just the same speed of  my notebook's internal 150m adapter.

the rate shown on the windows is 270mbps, still absolutely faster than 150.

Yes, I do have another router dir-655 working.

But the interference should be sometime even slow down the rate to even 65mbps, but not in the max rate.

To enhance the speed, should I change the WLI-UC-G300N? to a 3x3 usb adapter.

(actually it is difficult to find an usb adapter which is 3x3. can you tell me which model is? I assumed WLI-UC-G300N? was when I bought it.= =)

Or to change both the router and the adapter to dual band,

which means WZR-HP-AG300H? with the speed of only 300m and 2x2 mimo?

The second problem is about bridge.

It shows on the manual that, only the ddwrt fm can use WDS.

However, it also shows that only the friendly fm can use the router/bridge physical switch on the surface of the router.

Does it mean there is another way to bridge without using WDS?

And how to do it?

I can not find any related option in the airstation of friendly fm.

I want to use the g450h to link to the DIR-655 to get the internet connection, and the DIR-655 must be the router that directly link to the modem.

And I am using win7.

Not sure about the bridge problem, but I noticed the speed problem with my G450H after an uptime of more than 2 days. I set it up to auto reboot every day and that seemed to fix the speed issue...
