I haven't seen any WIFI dropouts yet on this router but I've stumbled on strange problem:

One of my wirless clients is Linux PC with Gentoo 3.0.2 kernel and:

03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation WiFi Link 6000 Series (rev 35)?

WLAN card. Now the problem is that every time I connect - and send out minimal traffic - after 10-20 seconds all interfaces are unresponsible on router - both ath0 - the WLAN is no longer visible, and the Ethernet port link is up but router doesn't respond to ping not http management traffic, and all other clients lose connectivity. The router itself blinks all the LEDs happily just as it it recieving the traffic, but after 5 minutes of wating - reboot and it's up again.

I've got older Intel 2200, Broadcom 4300, new HP ath0 clients, two Samsung WLAN clients (smartphone), Wii connecting to the router and all goes well - no hangs no drops. Just this Intel...

Smartphones are 'n' capable, so is Intel. I've restricted from Mix mode to GN-mixed, G-only and BG-mixed but at all times Intel WLAN clients silents my router.

Not sure what's happening, since I've got USB stick in in I'm going to change /var/log/messages to it to see if there's anything in the logs, but maybe someone had this problem before

Wow that is weird. Is it all of your intel adapters or just the one? Have you tried to reflash the firmware on the unit?

I got just one more (2200 series) and it connects and works fine. I'll check it over the weekend, so far I know that eth0 (wired) connection for this laptop works fine - so it's not deamons upseting the router... Also conncted to 30+ APs in the pas with no issues. Also will check with some USB WiFi conected to that laptop with intel shut-off.

Hey Hey,

I have exactly the same issue with the User Friendly Firware on the Router. My Intel Card is a 6200 AGN?. When I make a file Backup (Windows 7 Backup Feature) to a samba share in my Network (ICYBOX) than I get the same. So I decided I go to lates firmware this droped my wireless completly so I reverted back to WZR-HP-G300NH Ver.1.74 ....

Hey I had it just again,

My wife was working with 1 Laptop normal browsing ebay etc. I copied over wireless a movie 6GB via ftp to my NAS. The Speed was like 12MB/sec. over wireless. It took exactly 20 seconds and my wife told me "Internet is not working"... My file still copied so the local network worked fine still. But wireless just can not get internet anymore. So I stopped transmission and still no ongoing.... I have to restart the Router to get it back working.

this is the Eventlog from this time:

2011/10/02 20:46:23      WIRED  et0: link up port=1
2011/10/02 20:46:21      DHCPS sending ACK to 192.168.11.7
2011/10/02 20:46:21      DHCPS Request incoming from L-069162-B(len:10)
2011/10/02 20:35:39      WIRED  et0: link down port=3
2011/10/02 20:32:29      DHCPS sending ACK to 192.168.11.4
2011/10/02 20:32:29      DHCPS sending OFFER of 192.168.11.4
2011/10/02 20:32:24      WIRED  et0: link up port=3
2011/10/02 20:32:16      DHCPS sending ACK to 192.168.11.10
2011/10/02 20:32:16      DHCPS Request incoming from L-069162-B(len:10)
2011/10/02 20:32:12      WIRED  et0: link down port=1?

I switched later from Wireless to cable and there was also no internet. (I`m using 3G and the modem showed me connected)

Its not a way to have it like this. I`m using allready now firmware 1.77 User Friendly. When I understand this LOG its nothing what tells me there was some errors etc.

Could some one make a similare test over Wireless ? With wired it works fine so I can copy as much I want.

Please HELP !

Sorry I saw you are using DD-WRT... I will open a new post

Well, it seems some of the version of the Intel 6200AGN are killing our routers no matter which FW you're running.

The one that works fine is:

(this is from my Windows box)

Date: 2010 June 14

Version: 13.3.0.24

So now - the same PC  works fine with above driver using Windows 7 and under Linux - it stops the internet (it probably uses the same portion of driver you're using)

My suggestion - try with this 6200AGN driver version and post results.

Also - what is your driver version ?

Connection Drops to 130 mbps instaet of 300mbps as it is in user friedly. But at least I can work a bit... I have now again the driver 14.2.0.10?

Re: [SOLUTION EXIST ] WZR-HP-G300NH and Intel 6000 series WiFi kills router
« Reply #7 on: November 10, 2011, 06:01:12 AM »

I've found the solution to our problem:

http://bugzilla.intellinuxwireless.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2297

It requires new kernel for our routers.

Message for Buffalo Tech Team - can you take a look at it ? I'm OK to test this solution if you provide new DD-WRT image with recompiled kernel.
