WHR-G300N connect problem
« on: November 06, 2011, 06:37:50 AM »

I have a new Buffalo WHR-G300N which I am using in Japan to connect to Flets Broadban (fiber)

I have it connected without any problem but it is exhibiting one problem that has me scratching my head.

When I load a page the main content loads quickly as it should.

The problem I am noticing is on pages that link to secondary content such as advertising.

It seems to take a long time for the buffal router to connect to and download this content - slowing the page download completion time.

I am at a loss to know what setting in the router might be causing this.

To troubleshoot I went back to my old linksys router and it does not exhibit the same problem.

I installed DD-WRT onto the buffalo router and it does not exhibit the problem.

Reinstalling the original Buffalo firmware 1.82 and doing a complete reset the problem retrns - so it seems to be definitely related to the buffalo firmware or some setting within that firmware.

What should I be looking at here.

When using the friendly version of firmware did you enter in your DNS information?

Hi - thanks.

Yes, DNS details were entered manually (primary and secondary)
