Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH Power questions
« on: June 15, 2011, 09:54:36 PM »

hi everyone

As far as i know the TX power option in the router settings is the signal strenght

so i changed the TX power from 20 to 5 and i had no changes, of course the router says in the info that its power is 5 dBm ?

but i got the same speed and strenght

very strange

then i changed TX and RX antenna chains to from 1+3 and 1+2+3 to -----> 1 on both of them

same thing

same speed and signal quality

then changed the Sensitivity Range (ACK Timing)? to 10 (i dont know even whats that , but it says 2000 is for 2000 meters)

same.....

i am situated 15 meters out from the router , with few walls of wood that are covering the signal

i would like to set the radius of the router signal not more then 5 meters

so that if i get away from the router to 7 meters or 8 meters i will have like 2 bars or 1 bar of signal strenght

how can i do that?

I woudl try reflashing the router and possibly even trying the alpha firmware and then resetting the unit.
