Advice regarding DD-WRT
« on: May 26, 2011, 12:22:17 PM »

Hi,

I have WZR-HP-G300NH router with firmware 1.74, which I'm happy with in general.

I consider moving to DD-WRT, mainly since I want to use L2TP dialer from the router (long story, but the ISP requires that in order to give my Gamer IP, don't ask).

I want to use the V24-SP2 build 14998 since I want a stable version.

Here are the questions I have:

1) anyone with experience with DD-WRT and L2TP?

2) can I roll back to the buffalo firmware (user-freindly) if I don't like the DD-WRT version? How difficult it is?

3) I read old threads (from 2010) about DD-WRT not being stable, bad wireless connection, etc... it was with an older version. Any of those problems still exist?

Thanks,

Shay

I have never personally had any problems with the firmware. I have never used L2TP myself. But the firmware has been stable for me. And you can roll back the firmware to the friendly firmware easily.
