WHR-HP-G54 wireless dropping out
« on: May 23, 2011, 03:32:13 pm »

Hi I have a WHR-HP-G54 Ver.1.40 (1.0.37-1.08-1.04), connected to a Telewest (Virgin Media) modem surfboard in the UK (10MB).  Up to now I have been getting good and constant wifi reception for my laptop, PS3 and 2 HTC mobile phones.  Two days ago the I noticed the wifi on the phones kept dropping out, the same was noticed on the laptop.  If I hard wire the laptop from the Buffalo it is perfect with no loss of signal.  When the wifi is working and I speedtest it comes in at maximum, then a second later it will drop out completely.  If I monitor wifi networks using my HTC with an android wifi analyser app, I can see all the neighbours wifi constant and then mine showing, then going off.  Judging by the wifi analyser I am not crossing with any one elses channels.

I have tried factory resets of the Buffalo, turning everything off and on, changing security settings etc.  Even with no password, the wifi signal drops out.

As I say up to now i've never had a probelm with the Buffalo, but now i'm not sure what to do.

Any help would be appreciated, before I go out and waste some money on a new router.

Thanks :smileyhappy:
