Unable to access printer on network
« on: March 18, 2011, 05:46:22 PM »

Re: AirStation  WLI-TX4-G54HP

Unable to "see" Xerox 4500 networked printer which is connected to Airstation.  Connected Airstation successfully to network through browser: shows INFRASTRUCTURE and 100% status.

Cannot ping printer nor reinstall printer software.  Any ideas on next move?

Try it with another router and to see where the issue is. You could also just try resetting the Buffalo and setting it back up again.

Thanks for suggestion. Don't have another router but did reset and reconnect airstation. It IS talking to the router but my computer cannot ping 1.1.1.1 sp there's obviously no connection.

Do I have a subnet problem? My computer's address is 192.168.1.67 subnet 255.255.255.0  Should I reset the airstation to 192.168.1.99 and same subnet?

What is the WLI-TX4-G54HP connected to besides the network printer?

Do you have a router on your network that is handing out IP addresses (DHCP)?

only the printer is physically connected to the Airstation (via a standard cable, not a crossover cable...I'm assuming the ports in the AirStation are like a hub)

the Airstation is picking up the signals of the wireless router (a 2-Wire supplied by AT&T Uverse)

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious

Thanks for the reply.
