A wireles router question about WLAN data transfer
« on: March 12, 2011, 12:49:59 PM »

Lets say that i have a wireless  router with a 54 mbps  wireless speed, and want to transfer data using wireless.

So Here is my question.

If 1 user transfers data from PC_1 to his PC_2 the the speed will be 54 mbps or similar,

but if 5 users will transfer data from PC_1 to their 5 PC's (or vise versa  5 PC's to PC_1

will the speed be divided to 5 ?

thanks

Yes because wireless is a shared/divided up medium.

Wired switch ports however have dedicated 10/100 or 10/100/1000Mbps for each port.
