Language setting in AirStation G54s
« on: January 03, 2011, 01:23:38 AM »

I just reset my Air Station WHR-G54S and the language of my router has changed to japanese/chinese. Can anybody please tell me how to change the language back to English?

That is strange because there are no language settings per say on our US routers.

Have you tried downloading the firmware from our website

http://buffalotech.com/support/downloads/

Download it (unzip if necessary) and go into the web interface http://192.168.11.1 and click on the link that is third from the bottom. Point the router to the file that you downloaded.

Same thing happened to me.   I rest router to defaults and got asian character text on router interface web page.   i followed your instructions to upgrade the firmware and it did not fix the problem.     it's going back in the drawer unused.. sigh

Well even if the update failed you could allways try to install a 3rd party software on it so you can at least get some use out of it. Like DDWRT. Of course we wont be able to support this process or your router after that, but at least you would have a router with the right lanugauge.
