Problem: My laptop on either wired LAN and WLAN can't communicate with the rest of my home network or 'see' my NAS (1.5 TB HD-LB1.5TU2). It can get internet access and can see all the wireless ethernet converters via the buffalo ethernet converter program (even though it is not using those clients). Prior to installing the new router I ran on a Netgear router w/ desktop PC using ethernet converter listed below and the same laptop. in that configuration all devices could communicate. with the new router I can't communicate from my laptop or see NAS but can see the router; however, my desktop can see and push material to my laptop and see my NAS.
Factual info:
- new router: WZR-HP-G300NH FW 1.74
- NAS: 1.5 TB HD-LB1.5TU2
- ethernet converter for desktop PC: WLI-TX4-G54HP Ver.2.53
- ethernet converter for directTV: WLAE-AG300N (don't have firmware # immediately available)
- laptop: Dell w/ internal WLan card w/ N support.
Old router: Netgear 240 RangeMax.
Any help understanding why my laptop can see WLAN or LAN would be very helpful and thanks!
