Using WZR-HP-G300N as a Repeater Bridge.
« on: October 15, 2010, 12:36:50 PM »

Hi All,

Though this is my first post, I have been lurking aroung this forum for a while now. I have a linksys WRT54G(abt 3 years old, dont know the version number.) working fine, but doesnt have enough signal strength for the whole house. After some reading online, I found out about the repeater bridge business.

I was planning on buying this model  and flashing with the latest stable ddwrt build for setting it up as a repeater bridge. On reading this forums, I have seen mixed input on using this modem  G300N as a repeater bridge.

Is it true that its a big hassle to set it up as a Bridge router connecting to a linksys WRT54G(non ddwrt). Any Suggestion on other routers better suited for this purpose ?If I choose this model Which version of dd wrt firmware is more stable for this purpose ? I have seen posts on how the bridge keeps dropping connection to the gateway router.. Any tips/gotchas before I purchase this model ?

Thanks in advance.

Pardon my newbie question.
