WHR-HP-G54 refuses connections
« on: July 17, 2010, 06:21:23 AM »

So, I got this router from a moving neighbour, and thus I can't be sure that does it work. I decided to test it, and it doesn't want to connect to my computer. Windows detects the connection, but cannot connect. Wireless is not detected, although the wireless led is on.

I would suggest you hold the init button on the bottom until the red light starts blinking. This will set it back to defaults. The ip address will default to 192.168.11.1. Make sure the switch on the bottom next to the init button is set to auto.

Connect your computer to port 1, and connect your modem to the WAN port. Open an internet browser and type the ip address above in the address bar on your browser. The default username is root, and the password just leave blank and click ok to log in. Click on the advanced tab to get to the manual configuration page and set it up.

That should be about it. If you need help setting it up, browse through some of the FAQs in the forums.
