port forwarding
« on: June 26, 2010, 11:57:56 AM »

WZR-HP-G300NH  fw V1.74   The D-stink router this replaced had a very simple port forwardimg setup and I am also familar with Linksys setup. This web interface is a little confusing to me. I need to configure mapped ports that are not static. This doesn't seem to let me set up 0 addresses and I don't see where to change the ports from their default.

I think I figured this out. The port settings are all incoming. Can somebody tell  me if  I still need to setup outgoing ports somehow?

Usually, you only need to set up the incoming ports when forwarding.

Any outgoing ports are defined by the software you are using (IE, Firefox, BitTorrent, etc.)
