Setting up two WHR-HP-GN as router and access point
« on: June 25, 2010, 09:14:19 PM »

Hi

I'm trying to set up two WHR-HP-GN's as router and access point.  I used the AOSS setting and that works fine...I can plug a device into the ethernet on the access point and it works great. The problem I've run into is that the name of the router is changed to the default ssid instead of the one I have been using "gerard".

I really dont want to change the settings on everything in the house (4 laptops, 2 desktops, wii, ipods, ipad).

Is there an easy  way to keep my old ssid and and set up the access point?  I'm guessing that I don't want to use AOSS...but not sure how to set up the access point without it.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Ok I turned off AOSS and set the ssid back for the router.

How do I connect the access point to the router without using AOSS?

Thanks

Mike

Ok...once I got rid of the AOSS settings it was pretty easy.  The hardest part then was making sure I was talking to the right WHR-HP-GN.  I initially set the router as the access point.
