Super dumb question...........
« on: June 02, 2010, 03:05:09 AM »

My old Linksys router is going down, so I'm looking at the WZR-HP-G300NH.

My questions is...........and it's a dumb one............can I still use the Linksys WAP54G access points in conjunction with it?  I realize they will still only output G while the new router is putting out N, but the WAPs are used on the edge of my property for outbuildings and I don't see that Buffalo even makes WAPs.

Some help please.

It wouldn't work wirelessly because the WZR-HP-G300NH does not support WDS, which is the protocol used for wireless bridging.

You may want to look at this model http://www.buffalotech.com/products/wireless/routers-and-access-points/wireless-n150-high-power-router-access-point-whr-hp-gn/

The WZR-HP-G300NH does support WDS but doesn't support using it between any routers except Buffalo N routers.
