Not clear on function and purpose of VPN Advanced Settings.
Have a problem and hoping that I can solve with these advanced features.
Problem is that I have two home networks, each set up with a WZR-HP-G300NH. One home is my house, the other is my sister's home across the country (attempting to give remote support).
I made the mistake of using the same subnet in both homes. Now, when I VPN in from my house, I have a successful connection in, but cannot get to the router nor any computers in my sister's remote location.
If I make a VPN connection outside of my home network (cellular connect to my laptop), I can successfully get to everything on my sister's network....so the VPN is working great. Just very inconvenient and very slow.
Clearly, VPN'ing to another subnet with same IP range as client origin is not good.
It would be really difficult to change either homes' subnet at this point....with static IP's, servers, and computer backups......it would be a major pain.
Can these advanced settings help? Any documentation anywhere on what these settings mean and when/why they can be used?
