WHR-G54S: PS3 Streaming Issues
« on: January 02, 2010, 02:59:42 PM »

Hello.

I own a WHR-G54S Wireless router. I use MAC Filtering and WEP for compatibility with other devices.

I successfully connected the PS3 to the router, though the PS3 always says on the System Information

that the UpNp is disabled. I've double checked the router's settings and it is in fact enabled.

As a result, I can't get the PS3 to be recognised in my network Map on Windows 7 and because of that

I just can't stream anything from my computer to PS3.

I was wondering if anyone has had this kind of problem before and how did you solve it?

Another useful information:

- Network Media Sharing is enabled on PS3

- Internet works fine on the PS3, except for Media Server

Thank you.

There are two forms of uPnP. The form that the router's setting manages is for automatic port forwarding. The PS3/Media Server uses a local-only form of uPnP for automatic discovery. So, the PS3 needs to have uPnP enabled, the router setting won't matter.

I have the same problem.

My router has uPnP enabled and so does my PS3. But my PS3 will show uPnP "not available".

Note: I have two WZR-HP-G300NH routers setup in WDS mode. The PS3 is connected to the slave router.
