Hello all,

I am self-learning about Networking/Wi-fi and always get confused about LAN/WAN settings in router.  Can someone guide me to right (and simple) place where I can learn about setting up LAN/WAN/DHCP settings?  Currently all I do is simply connect ADSL modem (that is in router mode) output to one of those 4 RJ-45 ports of the Wi-fi AP and set the LAN to distribute IPs in the range I specify.  For eg. I have ADSL modem in 192.168.1.1 address and have Wi-fi AP in 192.168.1.100.  When anyone connects using a AP, they get IP starting from 192.168.1.101.  My question is when do I use WAN port?

Thanks if someone can clarify me this rather confusing terminology.  FYI I am testng WHR-HP-G54 router.

Cheers.
