Laptop was rebooted before I went to the router to resolve the problem.

I have mixed WPA mode channel 1 20Mhz mode.

I have a static IP

I could connect to router as the bridge, so it wasn't a wrong password or anything, but I could not ping anywhere.

Stopping and then re-starting the wifi on the router/bridge fixed the issue, but it was lucky my desktop is hard wired to network, or I would be crawling through the attic now, trying to power off/on the router/bridge, ergo why I am not happy that this fault has occurred.

Anyone else had the same thing happen?

Thanks.

There can always be bubbles or "burps" in commication that can cause devices to temproarily lose contact. Wireless communication is not (and may not ever be) 100% bulletproof reliable at all times.

If you continue to have a problem, I would recmmend temporarily disabling the encryption, or setting to a different type and see if the problem happens again.

Have you installed Firmware 1.65 on the router? It addresses issues like this.
