Port Forwarding WAN message
« on: March 08, 2009, 11:39:15 AM »

I have a Buffalo WHR-HP-54G router, and I am using a PCLinuxOS computer with a wired connection.  I use DHCP.  I want to configure port forwarding for a Bit Torrent client.  I read the instructions, and I logged onto the router and opened the Internet Games (port mapping) dialog.  As far as I understand, all I need to do is to select Manual configuration and reenter the assigned IP.  I have mapped the IPs to the MAC addresses, so the same IP is always assigned to this computer.

However, when I try to apply this change, I get this error message:

ERROR: WAN Side TCP/UDP Port
CONTENTS: WAN Side TCP/UDP is not configured

When I open the WAN dialog, I do not see anything that I understand to be relevant to solving the problem.

I would appreciate guidance.

Thank you,

Jan

What do you see under the wan box under diagnostic? Is there a valid Ip address under the Internet Connection box there?

I would also follow this guide, to make sure there was nothing missed.
