Hello, everyone.  I called Jay Pecheck at Buffalo Sales right here in Austin, TX where I live.  I called him on Monday of this week (3/23).  He told me, quote:  "The WZR-HP-G300NH will be available at the end of March for sale everywhere in the US".  I said, "why are people still saying end of April?".  He said, "I don't know.  It will be available no later than the last day of March".  You can find his full contact info at the bottom of this article located at:  http://www.globenewswire.com/newsroom/news.html?d=157279

If his info is inaccurate, I would be very disappointed.

Well, apparently Jay Pecheck has absolutely no idea what he is talking about or is giving us the run around.  Once again Buffalo has over promised and under delivered.  Seriously, why did Buffalo announce that its products are available again in the U.S. when they are nowhere close to releasing them?  What a disappointment!  Unfortunately, I may have to depart from being a loyal Buffalo user and go with another company that can move a little faster.  I just can't wait any longer.

I am in the same boat.  I'm tired of being BS'd.  I hate to do it, but I'm going to go with the Netgear gigabit wireless router.  I'm done with Buffalo.

*Update*

We have been told that this router may be coming in on the 24th of April.  We apologize for the delay and for the conflicting information.

It MAY on the 24th April? That's almost another month :smileysad: Is that the same time for release in the EU too?

Can the WZR-HP-G300NH be configured as a wireless bridge?

If it can, will it be able to also act as a WDS member?

Sorry I missed this post earlier, Bochista.  Judging by the manual, there is no WDS (Wireless Distribution System) functionality on the device. It can be configured as a simple Wireless Access Point.

What's with all the conflicting info? On the Buffalo US website it says this:

The advanced firmware includes Buffalo’s AirStation One-Touch Secure System™ (AOSS™), BitTorrent capabilities, WDS for wireless bridging and multiple levels of wireless and wired security.

So can it bridge or not? I thought this is one of the main differences from the WHR-G300N.

Good point. The manual does not show WDS options, but the product page definitely says that. I'll check into that for you.

Lol, Buffalo really need to get communicating with the Japan and EU offices and stay communicating, no-one seems to know anything about upcoming products, and please ask them to release WHR-G300N firmware for EU/US customers if talking to corporate(version 1.61 is released in Japan with 2 months).

I have verified that the mention of WDS for WZR-HP-G300NH was a misprint. At this time, there is no WDS capabilities on that model.

So no WDS, will the router support FAT32 usb drives other than Buffalo drives?

Dear Buffalo,

I think one of the best way to regain customer support and trust is by allowing compatibility with 3rd-party firmware developers such as dd-wrt, open-wrt and tomato (which probably won't support it). If Buffalo sends the technician details of the router ahead of time to the developers and is supported on release, then i think it'll be highly supported by the community. Buffalo made a really successful router, WHR-HP-G54, because the support by the 3rd-party firmwares. Just my opinion

tmGlobal, thank you for pointing out that the misprint made it to the datasheet as well. We will correct that ASAP.

Nevermind, I seen elsewhere that it does seem to support other external drives. Can you confirm that it has a built-in amplifier like the WHR-HP-G54?

Thanks.
