I mentioned earlier in the thread that I only know of the release of the product as being around March. I will post more information as I get it. Sorry about the delay.

Any news on when the wzr-hp-g300nh will start shipping in the US.

Here is the link to Buffalo Techs press release at CES 2009 that announced they would be selling in the US at street price of $99.

Starting to get impatient :)  There are a lot of us with money to spend on these new products.  Unpatiently awaiting for the WZR-HP-G300NH

So now there is an owners manual available for download on the product page. However, the device is not available for purchase at the usual suspects...

When oh when???

What to get?

For people interested in this model but can't wait any longer which model would you get from any manufacturer?   I tried the next model down from Buffalo and within 30 seconds of plugging it in - it completely froze - I couldn't get in, couldn't get any network connection, couldn't hard reset it, unplugging and everything else was dead.   I was looking in general for units people were looking for and buffalo came up but I'm considering other brands now.   Anyone here thinking of getting another brand or are you willing to wait for this model?

Well, the WZR-HP-G300NH has a gigabit router.  That's kind of the whole point.  That and the higher-power, built-in antenna, which really isn't all that necessary unless you have a REALLY big house.  :)  You'd probably want to have a few extenders if you have that big a house or a ranch in the middle of nowhere.

It also has the USB thing to connect a USB hard drive for easy access to a network drive.  Very useful I think.

Seems the WZR-HP-G300NH has been approved fy the FCC on 2009-March-04, useful links and hardware details on DD-WRT page for its little bro WHR-G300N (Link removed by Admin)

from above (about WZR-HP-G300NH )

Atheros AR9001AP-3NG platform, Atheros 9132 SoC AR9132 400MHz Network CPU

  Atheros AR9103 single-band 3x3 MIMO 802.11n wireless radio

  Realtek 8366 SR "RTL8366SR 89C49S1 G841B" 5+1 Gigabit switch controller

  WZR-HP-G300NH application to FCC

  https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=897445&fcc_id='FDI-09101560-0'

How many weeks before an FCC-approved router is released for sale???

WZR-HP-G300NH hardware (Gigabit, Atheros AR9132 + Realtek RTL8366SR) looks very different from WHR-G300N (10/100, Ralink "RT3052F" CPU, integrated Network processor + WLAN controller)

Colin137, any news on release date? how about performance? Thanks! :-)

http://buffalo.jp/products/new/2009/000930.html

If you can read Japanese, or have a translator to read it for you, you'll see that the router is available "2009 Early April" in Japan.

When we'll see it, here in the USA, who knows???

Figures------------Always Japan just gotta have it before us.  There must really be some greedy sonsof tying up buffalo

and making them jump through hoops so that finally they can sell the product they have in the US.

Greedy ass regulators and bull,  by the time buffalo finishes paying off all the freakin dues and bribes there wont be no profit to coup and the ieee will have 802.22 in draft stage......huuaah.

Buffalo owes the Japanese a debt of gratitude at the very least because they were very supportive of Buffalo's case to have the injunctive sales ban in the US lifted.

It was Australia's Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO)  quasi government research group that was initially successful in getting an injunction imposed through our US court system. The Japanese Co-founding sister group and part holder of the patent being challenged maintained that Buffalo had not infringed or violated the patent in any way.  So if Buffalo has a soft spot for the Japanese right now then I don't blame them.  I'm thankful thankful they are back period!

I am hearing "end of April" for the WZR-HP-G300NH to be in the USA. Sorry for the delay - Buffalo Japan kept putting in more features so the firmware had to go through more testing.

See  common sense via the Japanese Business Culture, not in all of products from there but at least this one,

unlike other competitors that are just way over valued sleaze that are like here, lets make inferior crap and call it innovation....:)

As for Buffalo Japan adding more features, ....that would be an act of confidence I say on their part in their product.  Well sooner or later it will get here,  I gotta lay off the energy drinks, really  I read posts chattering up something and I just wanna get the thing now.    Its all computers and cellphones fault.

Remember before cellphones,   how the heck did you know what to do???

Can the WZR-HP-G300NH be configured as a wireless bridge?

If it can, will it be able to also act as a WDS member?

What kind of new features did they add? Will it be released in Europe the same time as the US?
