WZR-AG300NH Firmware Update
« on: December 28, 2008, 03:04:53 PM »

What's the timeline for release of a firmware update to address the inconsistant connections when this unit is under heavy data load?? For example when streaming video content or transfer large file sets the connection to the router constantly resets. The problem is not specific to a particular wireless access card or device or pc/laptop.

What firmware are you running now?  Also what region was this unit purchased in.

I also have this same router and same question. I purchased the router in the US, and have firmware v 1.48. Is there an update? If not, when is one expected? If yes, where can it be downloaded?

Thank you.

This is the latest firmware the US has at the moment.  Please check buffalotech.com for updates

Please note I think this message I am posting is backwards, seems to be a bug on the forum....

My router version is WZR-AG300NH Ver.1.48 (R1.24/B1.09) and is UK.

It is a nice router apart from this.

I too have this problem and want to see it fixed! I have contacted Buffalo support regarding the issue before who insist nobody else has had the problem.

Shortly after posting, I noticed they have released an updated for UK users a few months ago (a long wait!). Lets see how well it works... WZR-AG300NH Ver.1.49 (R1.55/B1.09)

I only have version 1.46 for the U.S. version. Is there a way to get the 1.48 update?

Paul,

Sorry for the delay.  I currently running US firmware version 1.46.  How can I obtain the most recent 1.48 version you are referring to in a later post?  Buffalo's US website doesn't list this firmware revision as a downloadable option.

You can apply any firmware you want, but anything other then Buffalo would VOID your warranty. If you want to stay within your warranty and want to update you'd have to wait.

Hello, Further to my first post I would like to state that the firmware update did not improve stability. The router still crashes under heavy load even though it is running purely as an AP (No NAT, No Routing). I would very much like to see this fixed or even the sources released so I could dig into this myself and find a solution. Sources sources sources! :D

For US customers - there was a request for the latest FW for this product. We hadn't updated the FW, as this was an obsolete product for us (an oversite on our part)

We received the last revision of  WZR-AG300NH FW made and have posted it in our Download section.

1.49 definitely improved the things for me. I had 1.46 and I had all sorts of problems with my laptop. Pinging google.com for example was resulting in a packet loss every few seconds. My iPhone was working for a day and then I had to restart the router. I was about to bite the bullet and go buy the new AirPort Extreme.

If the product is obsolute why not release the source? Shouldn't the source be available to download anyway because it's GPL?

Our GPL source policy complies with the GNU General Public. For anyone wanting the GPL, The procedure for obtaining the source code is in the back of the manuals for each product.
