Terastation 5400
« on: June 26, 2013, 09:15:22 PM »

Hello everyone!
I have the "TS5400D" and clean HDD. When loading writes "Boot fail" - it's natural :).
How to install the Firmware?

Burn the following iso to an CD (link here[/url]).

Get a USB CD, DVD burner, attach it to one of the USB 2.0 ports on the unit, move the switch on the back of the TS to USB. Follow the on screen instructions.

This will load the basic OS onto the unit and put it into EM mode, then just reinstall the firmware.

thanks !
system works!

but show me system too hot ! how it could be ? how to check the temperature in web ui?

i check the system log. it said the system could get temperature from smart in the hdd.

Probably is hdd compatible issue.
How do i mute or disable the too hot alert?

or the too hot alert wasn't about the hdd but the nas hardware itself?

i am able to get something push to the NAS, but the format were fail after the push.

When i try same steps , and the updater always show "partition not found"

======================

thanks for everyone on this forum. Especially Davo.

I finally come out a solution. This will help other people who facing this problem on ts5000 series.

If you always get a "partition not found,updating aborted".Even you follow all the steps in this forum(like debug=1,version check=0,noformating=0) and couldn't help. You might try this.

1)Wait the system boot into em mode.And press function for few seconds,this will call up the recovery step.You must wait until the lcd show "recovery failed" and proceed to next step.

2)Reset the NAS by button.

3)Use the updater with default setting.

4)TADA!

================

Hope this may help.

Thanks to all .

Hello,

The link https://mega.co.nfgoV7eVVE5yTEMg_inSknjNU17ysa_esR5YeeGrRk is broken...
Can you please send me an iso for my Terastation 5400.
I can't boot from the HDD and i need to start from 0 to re-install my NAS.

Thanks in advance.
