Web Access problem with VOIP Router
« on: February 09, 2009, 07:38:40 AM »

I have a Buffalo Technology 500GB LinkStation Live LS-CHL Shared Multimedia Storage.  I am having trouble configuring the web access portion.

I have it hooked to my router (Belkin).  When I have the Belkin hooked directly to my Cable Modem and set the port to 9000 it works great.  I also have a VOIP phone modem.  It doesn't work to well when hooked directly to the router.  It works best when hooked directly to the cable modem then hook the router to the VOIP router.

In my house I can access the the linkstation through the web access because it works backwards - My Laptop - Belkin - then Linkstation.  When I am at work I can't access it - the sequence would be Internet - Cable Modem - VOIP Router - Belkin - Linkstation.

I can port forward the VOIP but can't seem to figure which port or what IP to access.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You'll need to set up port forwarding on the VoIP router. Find out the WAN IP of the Belkin. I'll assume the VoIP router is using 192.168.1.1 for the LAN IP, and the Belkin has WAN IP 192.168.1.2, and LAN IP 192.168.2.1, and the Linkstation has LAN IP 192.168.2.150:

VoIP router

Port 9000->192.168.1.2, Port 9000.

belkin router

Port 9000->192.168.2.150, Port 9000
