LS-WVL/E Share folder created but will not map
« on: March 18, 2013, 04:14:38 PM »

Alright i just bought this buffalo NAS a week ago i set it up in raid1 and added my user to everything. I can log into the web GUI and my router sees the link station.

NAS Navigator2 sees the link station and when i right click on it and hit "Map share" it says this:

Create a folder named 'Share' before mapping the drive

I have created the 'Share' folder naming it case sensitive and lowercase everything and it wont map.

I have tried the \\IP\share trick in run i even tried the following and nothing connects

\\IP\mnt\array1\share

\\IP\array1\share

\\IP\share

Nothing is mapping the share that is there.

Also if i use filezilla i can FTP into the nas on its address and access the folders but i want a mapped folder in my computer yet when i try ftp://IP/mnt/array1/share I get this error

An error occurred opening the folder on the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to access this folder.

Details:

550 /mnt/array1/share: no such file or directory

yet im looking right at the folder created in nas navigator2

hi, I had the exact same problem, could see the drive in navigator2 but could not map the drive.

After countless hours of searching, the solution was simple:
In control panel,
network connections
properties,

you have to check
Client for Microsoft networks
File and printer sharing for microsoft networks

make sure you enable these service for both Ethernet and Wifi network adapter.

It solved my case immediatly.
