Time Machine and Mac Address
« on: June 05, 2013, 05:46:12 AM »

Firstly I am totaly New to Raid and Buffalo Link devices.

Very Mac literate.

I have bought a 2nd hand fully working LS-QVL2B9 4 station 8TB

Firmware 1.64
Set up as Raid Array 5

I am trying to set up to do Time MAchine back ups for two iMacs

I have set it up via ethernet and all configuarations can be seen in NasNavigator 2

The link Station does not show on my Mac desktop.

It shows in my Shared Items in Finder as LS-2VQB9

I have created a folder called '27in' for Time machine Back up and this also shows in my Finder.

When I try to set the Enabled Time Machine folder up.. I get to select the drive and when the Target Host Name / Target Mac Address window should appear NOTHING DOES!

It simply stays on the Time Machine window after selecting the folder I wish to back up to (27in) after I click save.

Where do I go from here?

Thanks,

The MAC address field has been removed, all you need to do is select the share on the admin page and click Save. Ensure the share is mounted on the MAC using AFP and not SMB.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
Having network issues? Drop me an email: info@interwebnetworks.com and we will get it fixed!

Thanks.. that worked.

But turns out 92.6% of the linkstation was full.

Now re-setting it all from scratch.

I think I will be back..

Appreciate the quick response.

All backing up sweet now I have re-set it back to a cleared RAID 5.

Don't mena to use this as a "chat room".. but additonal question..

I have my 2Tb on the 27in in two formats.

1.2 TB and .800gb

The backcup is seeing it ons ONE BACK UP!

Your thoughts would be appreciated.
