Linkstation Quad - Replace HDD Procedure
« on: August 03, 2012, 09:26:26 PM »

Hi,

I have a Linkstation Quad with 2 x 1 TB and 2 x 2TB  drives in RAID 1. One of the 1 TB drives has failed and I want to replace it.

Is there a document that defines the exact procedure for doing this? I have had lots of problems with this system and I am looking for step by step instructions to replace the HDD

regards

Scott

Simply power down the unit, remove the face plate and swap out hard drive.  After powering back up it should still report an error for that drive slot.  You will need to log into the configuration for the unit and access the RAID array settings.  There you will find an option to rebuild the hard drive.  The process is similar to creating a new array which we have demo'd here:
