I can only get the biz version and that one doesn't work... Tried on a co-workers phone with the non biz version and works like a charm!
What happened?
Yes, I also want to know this as we were about to roll it out to a couple of users as a test, and now cannot :(
It's correct that the iWebAccess (both for HD and regular versions) are disappered from Apple appstore.
However, the iWebAcess Biz works perfectly and function the same. There's additional steps of setting up and configuration
At first, this additional steps create confusion as there's no clear documentation for this.
Just create a new profile. You need to enter 2 news password for Admin and Distribution. You may enter any passwords for this and it has nothing to do with password on your NAS. After you make this profile, then you can add NAS server just like iWebAccess. Good luck...
Thanks for the thread. One thing that's particularly upsetting is not only is the app long longer on the App Store, but my installed copies (on my iPad and iPhone) no longer work. Instead, they crash after displaying the splash screen. Granted these were free apps, but I'd argue they were actually included in the price of the purchase of my NAS devices.
Beyond that, this alternate business app does not seem to allow access to the NAS outside the network on which they reside, which is half the point of the product: I want to be able to access my own files through my own managed personal "cloud".
Perhaps the app was pulled as Buffalo transitions to their Pogo Plug/CloudStor product? Regardless, it's not fair to existing customers (repeat customers, at that!) to remove a service without notice.
Davo is absolutely correct in that, if you are unable to access things outside of your home network, this is definitely an issue with port forwarding on your router's side. The web access app has been removed from the AppStore for the moment. We have resubmitted the App to Apple and are currently waiting on their approval process so we can re-post it.
When you first start the Biz version, it will appear with option for profile settings...
1. Choose New Settings
2. create a any new Admin and Distribution password. You can create any password for both and they does not related to password on your NAS.
3. Back to main menu, click the Padlock (locked) icon next to Options on the bottom of screen. It ask for admin password.. fill with admin password that you created on step 2 above.
4. After you enter the correct password... The Admi Menu appears with 3 option.. Press Cancel.
5. Now you and create a setting of your NAS... press {+} button and process with setting for your NAS.
6. You can now complete the NAS setting using the regular setting... After you enter your BuffaloNAS name, the default WebAccess is http://buffalonas.com/your_NAS_name.
Hope it helps.. Let us know if it works.. Good luck.
Thanks for the instructions! Works great!
